The HMC Cloud Connector is a Linux service that pushes data into the Cloud Management Console (CMC) database upon user enablement. Cloud connector utilizes a oneway push model: It initiates all outbound communication. This is not to be confused with oneway computer communication, which sends a message without waiting for a response. The typical request-response style is used but cloud connector is never the responder but always the requestor. For automatic network based configuration, where cloud connector pulls the configuration file from the cloud database, HTTPS is used; and for application data flow (push) between cloud connector and the CMC data ingestion node, TCP with SSL is used.
