Of course, backups are often a pretty inexact science as well. Less than 10 percent of businesses back up their data every day. Over 20 percent of files aren’t protected at all. And even when there are backup files saved, 75 percent of IT managers say they couldn’t restore all of their lost data, because 60 percent of backups are incomplete and about half of all the data restore efforts fail.
