Software company Zenseact uses cutting-edge AI to boost safety systems in Polestar 3
Cutting-edge AI to boost safety systems :
The release of Polestar 3 has been announced by Polestar. The vehicle is equipped with the latest in safety technology on a platform that supports ongoing software updates. Zenseact, a leader in safety technology, delivers the AI-driven safety software that will give Polestar drivers strict protection and a comfortable driving experience.
Driver support has been a key factor as Polestar introduces its newest vehicle to the fleet. The Polestar 3 has various cutting-edge safety features that are powered by AI techniques like deep learning, in addition to sophisticated upgrades to the industry’s basic active safety features.
Precautionary safety, a revolutionary safety technology, will be able to foresee hazardous traffic situations before they occur and will be able to modify the car’s speed and location to ensure that they never do.
As the first industrial deployment of its software OnePilot, a product for enhanced driver assistance, the Polestar 3 launch is a proud moment for Zenseact.
“The release of OnePilot is a big step towards making driving safer. We are delighted to make Polestar 3 smarter, safer, and more convenient to drive,” Odgard Andersson, CEO at Zenseact
Through over-the-air software updates, the car will continuously enhance its performance and functionality. The overall intelligence and driving experience of the automobile will increase with features like the ability to modify speed and position to tackle fast curves and complicated traffic scenarios. Another innovation is the use of high-definition maps in real-time to view beyond the horizon, to better adjust driving to what’s beyond the next turn, and to keep the car centred in its lane even when lane lines are difficult to see.
“Collaborations with industry-leading safety technology partners like Zenseact provide Polestar 3 with cutting-edge ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) solutions. Combining performance and comfort with the latest in AI and updatable safety software is an important addition to our new car” Beatrice Simonsson, Head of Product Management at Polestar.
The launch of OnePilot marks an important step in Zenseact’s bold goal to lower traffic accidents and make roads safer. The programme will eventually learn to handle more complex traffic circumstances and be increasingly capable of preventing crashes with the help of carefully chosen traffic data from the Polestar vehicles.
“Millisecond by millisecond, information is collected, analyzed, and turned into action by the car. Accidents, incidents, and near accidents will thus become a part of improving the cars in coming software updates. Put differently, the more cars learn from each other’s experiences, the faster everyone will benefit.” Odgard Andersson, CEO at Zenseact
The “collective fleet intelligence” will therefore develop and deepen for every vehicle equipped with this technology, and ongoing enhancements will be based on actual usage data from the vehicle fleet. To prevent road fatalities and serious injuries, OnePilot will be used by every driver of a vehicle. Drivers of the Polestar 3 leave first.
