Fortra Expands Offensive Security Leadership with Acquisition of Zero-Point Security

Specialized red team training provider enhances global education across Cobalt Strike, Core Impact, and Outflank security solutions.

Fortra, a global cybersecurity software and services provider, has announced the acquisition of Zero-Point Security, a specialized cybersecurity training firm based in Warrington, UK. This strategic move significantly strengthens Fortra’s offensive security education portfolio by adding advanced expertise in red team operations, adversary emulation, and penetration testing.

Zero-Point Security is widely recognized for delivering high-quality, hands-on training programs and has built a strong reputation through its in-demand, self-paced courses. These programs are trusted by both individual practitioners and organizations seeking to develop advanced offensive security capabilities and stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.

“Becoming part of Fortra allows us to expand the global reach of our training programs while continuing to empower red team professionals with practical, adversary-focused skills,” said Daniel Duggan, Founder and Director of Zero-Point Security. “By working closely with the Cobalt Strike, Outflank, and Core Impact teams, we aim to elevate the standard of offensive security training worldwide.”

Among Zero-Point Security’s flagship offerings are Red Team Operations I and II, both of which meet the rigorous standards set by the Council of Registered Ethical Security Testers (CREST). Successful completion of these courses enables participants to achieve Certified Red Team Operator (CRTO) status—an industry-recognized credential that validates expertise in real-world offensive security techniques.

Fortra has a longstanding relationship with Zero-Point Security, having previously collaborated on Cobalt Strike training initiatives. “We’re excited to deepen this partnership and expand our training roadmap,” said Pieter Ceelen, Cobalt Strike product owner and Outflank founder. “This includes more advanced Cobalt Strike Certified Operator programs, as well as new training for Core Impact and Outflank security tooling.”

Fortra CEO Matthew Reck emphasized that the acquisition reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to advancing offensive security as a core pillar of modern cyber resilience. Under Duggan’s leadership and expertise, Zero-Point Security will play a key role in shaping an enhanced, globally accessible training ecosystem.
